In 2010, Mahindra acquired majority stake in Reva Electric Car Company (RECC). Reva was founded in 1994 by Chetan Maini to design and manufacture a Revolutionary Electric Vehicle Alternative (REVA).
The orange colour in the logo signifies the power of sun which is the sole source of energy within the solar system.
At the time of acquisition Reva was manufacturing a micro electric car, called Reva and Revai at its Bangalore plant.
In 2016, Mahindra renamed the company as Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd and entered the electric 3-Wheeler segment as well as designing and supplying EV powertrain kits to 4-wheelers.
Later, in 2023, the company was renamed as Mahindra Last Mile Mobility and are designing and manufacturing electric vehicles to meet the “Last Mile” segment.
